$101,000 Lucky Lotteries Win Discovered While at Work

Two Australian players won $201,000 between them in the February 10 Lucky Lotteries draw with one of them at work when finding out about her win.

One of the winners came from Maroubra which is a suburb of Sydney in New South Wales. Her success was a total shock to her as she hadn’t seen the draw. As her ticket was registered, it meant the lottery company knew who the lucky winner was and gave her a surprising call.

That was made just as she was about to set off for work. There had been some missed calls and she wondered who was making them, never dreaming it would be the lottery company.

“Smiling all day”

“Oh my god. That is brilliant!” was her immediate reaction. Then the Lucky Lotteries winner added: “ I’m  going to be smiling all day now.” However, she couldn’t do what she wanted to do, explaining: “If I wasn’t going to work, I’d have a glass of champagne to celebrate!”

Before going to work she phoned her husband with the news. “He’ll be stoked,” she said. Plans for the win will be a “small holiday” at the end of 2025 and paying their mortgage.

“Amazing news”

Also winning in the same draw was a woman from Charters Town in North Queensland. In total she won $101,000, no wonder the Lucky Lotteries winner (who was at work when finding out about her windfall) declared: “That’s just amazing news.”

Work suddenly took second place in her priorities, she explained: “I’m yelling out to a few of my work colleagues, and they’re looking at me like I’m some sort of mad woman.”  A Weekday Windfall winner found out about her win  while on a bus and surprised the other passengers.

Winning is always a bit of shock and she  “I’m so glad I was sitting down when you broke the news to me. I’m pretty sure I would’ve fainted otherwise.”  A $15 million Oz Lotto winner said he nearly had a heart attack  when discovering his win.
