$101,000 Lucky Lotteries Win after Near 40 years wait

Sometimes you have to be patient when waiting for a big lottery win. A father from Plympton Park in Western Adelaide,  South Australia had been playing for nearly 40 years before a $100,000 Lucky Lotteries win.

His long wait ended on September 6 and his win came from a ticket he didn’t even pay for. The Lucky Lotteries winner had received a free ticket when buying another. Such was his luck that he also won a $1,000 consolation prize taking his winnings up to $101,000.

Is this true?

It was soon after the Lucky Lotteries draw that the Lott made the kind of phone call we’d all love to receive. Not surprisingly the lucky winner was still surprised at his big win. “Oh my! Is this true? I won $101,000?” he said, nearly in tears.

He hadn’t checked the results but as his ticket was registered, the lottery company knew he’d won. “I have to check for myself. I need to see that I’ve won!” the unconvinced winner said. “This is fantastic news. I can’t believe I’ve won on a free ticket as well!” added the long term player.

The delighted winner revealed that he had been playing the Saturday X Lotto for almost 40 years. “I’ve been waiting for a win all this time,” he joked before adding: “What a fantastic way to start the week. I’m very happy.”

Back to Italy

After finally winning a $101,000 Lucky Lotteries prize, how will he spend his winnings? He instantly replied that a trip to Italy is at the top of his spending list. He moved to Australia from Italy over 40 years. “Although Australia is my home, I miss Italy,” said the homesick Lucky Lotteries winner.

Travel to Italy isn’t possible at present. In the meantime, he plans on sending his family some presents.

His winning Lucky Lotteries ticket was purchased from the Park Holme Newsagency. That’s owned by Thi Hong Phuong Hau,and he says his staff are “ecstatic” about the big win. They’ve also been having  a bit of a wait as their last 1^st prize Lucky Lotteries ticket was sold three years ago.
